Introduction to Bunkering by IBIA


About the Event

In conjunction with FUJCON 2011, the International Bunker Industry Association (IBIA), is organizing a special one-day “Introduction to Bunkering” pre-conference course on Monday, 14 March 2011
This highly successful course is designed for newcomers to the bunkering industry as well as those in shipping. It covers all aspects of the industry at a basic level, and also acts as a highly effective, low cost, referesher course.
The course is presented by IBIA members who are specialists in their particular fields such as broking, supply, trading and purchasing, and uses materials produced by IBIA’s Education Working Group.
Course space is limited to 30 delegates and early booking is advised.

Course Director(s)

Ian Adams, Chief Executive, International Bunker Industry Association

Ian has been involved in the Shipping Industry since 1985 when he joined P&O Cruises as an Engineering Cadet. Whilst with P&O Cruises he served both at sea and in the Technical Department. After a brief spell in the Petrochemical Industry he returned to the Marine Industry as a service engineer with Deep Sea Seals, overseeing the installation of stern seals in dry-docks all over the world. Ian then joined Hamworthy KSE as a Sales Executive, responsible for Sales in the UK, Greece and latterly Cyprus. Ian has been appointed Chief Executive of The International Bunker Industry Association, UK, in February 2009, after having been its Secretary-General for seven and a half years. Ian is a Fellow of the Institute of Marine Engineering Science and Technology, he has served as a Council Member, and is a Vice President of the Southern Joint Branch (UK). The course will also feature additional practicing members of the Association
