The 7th International FUJCON 2011 organized by The Conference Connection Inc, held under the auspices of the Government of Fujairah with the Patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Member of the UAE Supreme Council & Ruler of Fujairah, and supported by the International Bunker Industry Association, was successfully held in Fujairah, UAE from 14 to 16 March 2011. FUJCON 2011 exceeded expectations attracting more than 300 attendees from 35 countries. The Forum continues to be a key event in the industry's calendar of events, given the diverse geographic attendance and wide cross-section of industries represented including leading oil and bunker producers/traders, oil majors, national oil companies, shipowners and operators, ship managers, ship brokers, refiners, classification societies, maritime lawyers, bankers, consultants and supply and service companies. |
 | The opening session for FUJCON 2011 on Tuesday, 15 March had an outstanding panel of keynote speakers, comprising several oil industry notables. In the current economic environment, the in-depth analysis, wisdom and experience of such speakers, added greatly to the debate and knowledge sharing that FUJCON is noted for. The opening session was co-chaired by Mr. Mohammed Obaid Majid Al Al-Aleeli, Director, Department of Industry & Economy, and Mr Hussain Sultan, Chairman, Neptune Energy Trading LLC. |

FUJCON 2011 Highlights: - In terms of attendance, UAE & Middle East/African countries continue to have the largest share with 70% of attendance up by 10% from 2009), USA/Europe 19% (up by 7% from 2009) and the Asia/North Asia 10%. 1st time attendees for the Forum were from Russia, Beirut, Gibraltar & Iraq. - The theme of the conference Spearheading the Global Bunkering & Storage Markets Commercial Vs Environmental Challenges to 2020 & Beyond was covered by a select group of 27 experts from the Middle East, Denmark, Netherlands, Switzerland, USA & UK. Some noted presentations included Tightening Bunker Specifications on the International Fuel Market; Latest Developments in the Port of Fujairah, Oil Storage Trends & Bunker Blending and Marine Fuel Management and Fuel Specifications.
- The strongest reasons cited by participants for attending the conference were the programme coverage and opportunity to develop business

Crude to Bunkers, 12-13 March 2011, examining the value chain of bunker from its origins in the oilfield to the bunker fuel market
Bunker Fuel Blending, 13-14 March 2011, providing a comprehensive insight into marine bunker blending techniques, technology & cost benefits
Introduction to Bunkering, 14 March 2011, covering all aspects of the industry at a basic level and designed for newcomers to the bunkering industry
- Social activities held during the conference included the Opening Reception on 14 March hosted by Bominflot, the Conference Dinner at the Hilton Fujairah on 15 March hosted by SOCAR AURORA Fujairah Terminal and an offshore Site Visit to the Port of Fujairah and its offshore installations on 16 March.
