The 4th PSC Roundtable was held in Dubai for the first time, on 5-6 October 2011, as part of the Middle East Petroleum and Gas Week with delegates and speakers from 14  countries, representing the national oil companies, the oil majors and independents, exploration companies, investment and equity groups and legal and financial consultants in attendance.  A wide range of issues surrounding the PSC and its derivatives, government share, fiscal design, investment& financial considerations, unconventional gas scenario and dispute resolution within a wider landscape of oil and gas developments, were deliberated at the conference.    The intimate setting and format of Roundtable discussions facilitated optimum knowledge sharing and networking, with fiscal design experts addressing the gathering.

The roundtable had an outstanding panel of speakers and was co-chaired by Mr David Johnston, Partner & Managing Director, Daniel Johnston & Co Inc., USA and Mr John Roper, Head of Middle East, E.ON Ruhrgas, UAE.

  • The theme of the Roundtable Upstream Challenges in Exploration and Production in the Middle East / Gulf: Stability vs Sovereignty was covered by a select group of 15 experts from the Middle East, USA, UK, Canada, Germany, The Netherlands, and Norway. Some of the sessions that were of high relevance to the delegates included issues on:

  • Issues and developments in unconventional gas
