Dr. Fereidun Fesharaki is the Founder and Chairman of FGE. His work is well-recognized worldwide for pioneering oil and gas market analysis and studies of the Asia Pacific/Middle East energy markets since the early 1980s.
He received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Surrey in England and then completed a Visiting Fellowship at Harvard University’s Center for Middle Eastern Studies. He joined the East-West Center in 1979 and led the energy program as a Director and Senior Fellow till 2013.
In 1989, Dr. Fesharaki was elected a member of the Council on Foreign Relations in New York. Since 1991, a member of the International Advisory Board of ENEOS Holdings (and its predecessor companies). He was the 1993 President of the International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE).
In 1995, he was elected a Senior Fellow of the US Association for Energy Economics for distinguished services in the field of energy economics. In 2002, appointed a Senior Associate of the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, D.C. He received the Outstanding Contributions to the IAEE Award in 2012. He was a member of the Advisory Board of VOPAK LNG from 2013 to 2015. In 2014, appointed as Honorary Advisor by CNPC Research Institute of Economics and Technologies in Beijing. Dr. Fesharaki is the recipient of the 2016 Adelman-Frankel Award from the US Association for Energy Economics (USAEE) for his unique and innovative contribution to the field of energy economics. In March 2017, Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) appointed him as a Director of the Dubai Mercantile Exchange Limited (DME). Since 2009, he has been a member of the DME Board of Directors. Dr. Fesharaki has been appointed to the National Petroleum Council beginning in 2008 and most recently re-appointed by the US Secretary of Energy, Dan Brouillette in April 2020.

Ara Barsamian is currently President and Chief Executive Officer of Refinery Automation Institute, LLC (RAIL). A fuels blending automation consulting firm, Refinery Automation Institute specializes in the profitable growth, development, and implementation of blending operations and technology.
Previously, he served as a group head of Exxon Research and Engineering Company where he designed, implemented, started up, and commissioned over 20 blending and oil movement systems across the United States, Europe, South America, the Middle East, and Asia.
In 1985, he formed 3X Corporation, which was later acquired by ABB, building on his 40+ years of experience in over 60 blending automation and optimization projects.
Ara is a fellow of American Institute of Chemical Engineers, life-time member of International Society for Automation, member of ASTM working group on using spectrometers for certifying in-line gasoline blends, and a member of IBIA’s Future Fuels working group.
He graduated from the City University of New York with a B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering.

The online course materials are available to registered and paid attendees only for a period of 10 days. The expiration days are calculated from the date of receiving the electronic format. After the payment, attendees will receive the electronic format of the material by e-mail, using the provided e-mail during the registration. Course material will not be sent to a different email address than the one provided at registration. The material consists of a copyrighted pdf file that represents the course-book, protected by password and copyrighted excel exercises and a demo of the copyrighted RAI blend optimizer. The average duration of each video is 20 minutes. The videos are in high quality, meeting the requirements for online courses.
Once payment is received, attendees will receive a video link and materials to the purchased online course. If you have issues with accessing the materials please send an e-mail to info@cconnection.org
Most of the exercises and in particular the RAI blend optimizer work exclusively on a Windows based laptop and with Microsoft Excel installed on your machine. We require at least Microsoft Office 2010 installed on your machine to run the RAI exercises and Optimizer. We also require that the solver and the VBA package tools are installed on your Microsoft Office. If you have an Apple computer with IOS or other operating systems such as Linux, Ubuntu or others, we advise you to install Windows on them in order to use the RAI package. If you are using your company’s computer/laptop, you might have restrictions. In this scenario you might want to reach out to your IT department and ask them to give you permission to run RAI exe files. The RAI optimizer will work exclusively on one computer, and before the activation you will be guided on how to get the key to unlock the RAI blend optimizer demo. Please also make sure that your antivirus allows the exe files to be run on your computer/laptop. In order to watch the online content you must have a high-speed internet connection.

The exercises and the optimizer have been tested on a variety of computers without any issues. Please always make sure that the previous mentioned advice has been implemented.
Conference Connection will provide all paid registrations with login credentials to the Portal which facilitates the courses. The Portal is owned and managed exclusively by Conference Connection who will be responsible for all technical and operational delivery for the courses on the Portal. The registration and payment of online course is not refundable and not transferable to another person. Cancellation is not accepted upon your registration and payment. Before registering and paying for the course, please ensure that you meet with all the minimum requirements to run the course material on your computer/laptop.
At the completion of the course and quizzes, the attendees will receive the certificate of attendance of the Conference Connection & RAI training program attended online. The attendees will receive an electronic version of the certificate, through the provided e-mail during registration.
