Over the past 25 years HH Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum has been at the forefront of Dubai’s remarkable economic development spearheading the successful expansion of aviation, which now supports 28 per cent of Dubai’s GDP, and more recently, formulating economic, investment and fiscal policies and strategies in support of the emirate’s overarching vision.
Sheikh Ahmed embarked on his career in the aviation industry in 1985 when he was appointed President of the Dubai Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) – the governing body that oversaw the activities of Dubai International and Dubai Duty Free, among others. In the same year Emirates Airline – Dubai’s international carrier was launched with Sheikh Ahmed as its Chairman. He is now the Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline & Group, which includes dnata – the region’s leading travel services and ground handling company, and other aviation related entities.
Under Sheikh Ahmed’s leadership, the DCA underwent an organisational restructuring in April 2007 resulting in the creation of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA) as the local regulatory body, and Dubai Airports as the owner and operator of Dubai’s airports – Dubai International and Dubai World Central. Following the restructuring, Sheikh Ahmed became the President of DCAA and Chairman of Dubai Airports.
The fact that Dubai is now firmly established as the region’s leading tourist destination and business, trade and transport hub is due in no small measure to the efforts of Sheikh Ahmed. Under his leadership, Dubai International has developed from humble beginnings into the world’s fourth busiest airport for international passenger and cargo traffic with a network of over 260 destinations served by more than 140 airlines.
In 2008 in another first to Dubai’s long list, flydubai was launched. With Sheikh Ahmed to lead the airline as its Chairman and now in its 10th year of operation, flydubai has created a network of more than 85 destinations in 45 countries served by a fleet of 60 Boeing 737 aircraft.
In June 2016, appointed as a President of Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences.
Sheikh Ahmed holds a number of government positions and plays an increasingly pivotal role in leading the emirate’s finance and energy sectors. Despite his numerous business
activities, he is Patron to many charitable organisations. He has also received numerous accolades from various Governments and multi-nationals.
In January 2019 he was awarded "The sash (Scarf) of Mohammed Bin Rashid" by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum is the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, for winning the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Government Excellence Award for his leadership in aviation
HH Sheikh Ahmed has a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Denver, Colorado, USA. In May 2013, he was presented with an honorary Degree of Doctor of Science from City University London – Cass Business School in recognition of his outstanding leadership in the development of professional sectors including aviation, finance, banking and entrepreneurship among others in the UAE.

H.E. Eng. Suhail Mohamed Faraj Al Mazrouei was appointed as the UAE Minister of Energy on 12 March 2013, where the Ministry's main tasks focus on contributing to sustainable development, coordination and representation of the petroleum, minerals, electricity and water affairs; and making a good use of them all for the benefit of the national economy. Moreover, H.E has been appointed in 2017 as The UAE Minister of Energy and Industry.

H.E. graduated in 1996 from the University of Tulsa in the United States with a Bachelor degree in Petroleum Engineering. He was born in Dubai on July 1, 1973. His hobbies include poetry, literature and history. He is married and has four children.
The iconic MPGC series, was held successfully in Dubai from 7-9 April 2019, hosted by the Emirates National Oil Company. After 27 years, MPGC remains the region’s longest running annual oil and gas conference, a trusted brand and a hallmark of excellence in thought leadership. MPGC 2019 welcomed more than 350 participants from over 30 countries.
The 27th edition of the series addressed the OPEC’s role in today’s oil market, the new oil order, pricing hub and discovery, LNG market evolution, spot markets and rise of JKM, future refining outlook, and fuel quality upgradation due to IMO 2020.
Dr. Fereidun Fesharaki is the Founder and Chairman of FGE. His work is well-recognized worldwide for pioneering oil and gas market analysis and studies of the Asia Pacific/Middle East energy markets since the early 1980s.
Dr. Fesharaki received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Surrey in England and then completed a Visiting Fellowship at Harvard University’s Center for Middle Eastern Studies. Joined the East-West Center in 1979 and was a Senior Fellow leading energy-related research till end 2013.
In 1989, Dr. Fesharaki was elected a member of the Council on Foreign Relations in New York. Since 1991, a member of the International Advisory Board of JX Holdings (and its predecessor companies)—Japan’s largest oil company. Dr. Fesharaki was the 1993 President of the International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE).
In 1995, elected a Senior Fellow of the US Association for Energy Economics for distinguished services in the field of energy economics. In 2002, appointed a Senior Associate of the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, D.C. In 2008, Dr. Fesharaki was appointed to the National Petroleum Council by then US Secretary of Energy and re-appointed by Secretary Moniz in April 2016. Received the Outstanding Contributions to the IAEE Award in 2012. He was a member of the Advisory Board of VOPAK LNG from 2013 to 2015. In 2014, he was appointed as Honorary Advisor by CNPC Research Institute of Economics and Technologies in Beijing. Dr. Fesharaki is the recipient of the 2016 Adelman-Frankel Award from the US Association for Energy Economics (USAEE) for his unique and innovative contribution to the field of energy economics. In March 2017, Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) appointed him as a Director of the Dubai Mercantile Exchange Limited (DME). Since 2009, he has been a member of the DME Board of Directors.

In his role as Chief Executive Officer of ENOC Group, Saif Humaid Al Falasi spearheads the Group's business strategy and operational excellence locally and internationally in alignment with the vision and plans of the Government of Dubai. A 37-year veteran in the energy industry, Al Falasi's wealth of experience and in-depth industry knowledge spans a wide range of specialties, including project management and petroleum asset evaluation operations.
Al Falasi joined ENOC in 2008 as Group General Manager. In 2011, he was appointed as Executive Director for Environment, Health, Safety and Quality (EHSQ) and Corporate Affairs Directorate overseeing the functions of key divisions within the Group including Group Legal and Group Communications in addition to EHSQ.
In 2014, Al Falasi was awarded the Fellowship of the Energy Institute in the United Kingdom by the Institute's former president Ian Merchant, in recognition of his continued leadership efforts with the ENOC Energy & Resource Management Programme.
Before joining ENOC, Al Falasi worked with Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) for 25 years and served as a member of the National Marine Service (NMS) Board of Directors. Prior to that, Al Falasi worked with the ADNOC Group of companies where he successfully executed multiple full field development plans for the largest oil fields in Abu Dhabi.
Al Falasi is the CEO of Dragon Oil, Chairman of Gulf Energy Maritime (GEM), as well as a board member of Supreme Council of Energy and the Green Energy Council. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Louisiana Tech, USA.

In January 2017 Alan Haywood was appointed Chief Executive Officer of BP’s global energy trading business. He serves on a number of Group company boards.
Global energy trading is the commercial face of BP, working in close collaboration with the Group’s Upstream and Downstream businesses, enhancing BP’s value through the application of distinctive supply, trading, risk management and information technology skills – underpinned by a world-class control infrastructure.
Alan joined BP in London in 1988 and has held a wide variety of leadership roles in the Trading business in Europe and the US over more than 25 years. He has also worked in Merrill Lynch and Bankers Trust in 1992-1997, trading oil and precious metal financial derivatives. After being Head of the Group CFO’s Executive Office in 2005-7, Alan became Head of Supply and Trading for BP’s European Oil business, managing trading and supply for Oil as well as global currency trading and interest rate management.

Thomas Waymel, born in 1968, is a graduate of France’s Ecole Polytechnic and Ecole Nationale Superieure de Petrole et des Moteurs (ENSPM) engineering schools and the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
He joined Total’s Refining business in Paris in 1993.
In 1995, he became a crude oil trader in Geneva, subsequently moving to Houston in the same capacity in 2002.
In 2003, he was appointed General Manager, Americas Coordination, a position based in Houston.
In 2006, he was named General Manager, West Africa Coordination, a position based in Geneva.
In 2007, he moved to Total Refining & Marketing in Paris as Manager, Resource, Market & Contract Balances.
He was appointed Vice President, Crude Oil Trading in 2011, a position based in Geneva.
Since December 2014, Thomas Waymel is President of Total Trading & Shipping Diviison. He is also a member of Total Management Committee.

Keith Martin, born 1968, studied history at Liverpool University (United Kingdom) from 1987 to 1990. After completing his B.A., he worked for Shell UK as an Analyst in Supply & Logistic from 1990 to 1995. From 1991 to 1996, he also worked as manager of retail at Shell UK. From 1996 to 2000, Mr. Martin served as divisional Director of Optimization and Logistic at Shell UK, after which he worked for Shell Energy Trading as Manager of European Energy Trading from 2000 to 2005. Thereafter, Mr. Martin joined Gazprom Marketing & Trading, London (UK), where he held various positions in the period from 2005 to 2013, serving as Commercial Director from 2005 to 2009 and as Executive Director Global Business Development from 2011 to 2013.
From 2013 until February 20, 2016, Mr. Martin served as Vice President Gas, Power, Carbon and LNG at Petrochina, London (UK). Since March 1, 2016, he has served on the board of management of Uniper SE as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) responsible for Coal, LNG & Freight, Power & Gas, Sales, Procurement, Real Estate Management, Global Origination and Market Analytics.

An Executive having 32 years of experience in Kuwait Petroleum Corporation with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering.
Started work as a Junior Sales Representative in Bunker Sales Department of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation-Kuwait in November 1986 and was transferred to KPC (Far East) – Singapore Office in September 1988 and worked there for a few years.
He was reassigned to KPC H.O. - International Marketing Sector in the Far East Sales Department in January 1992 and later worked in other Marketing depts. like Supply Operations and Sales Middle Distillates & National Accounts. He worked on Kuwait Refinery Economics, Crude Oil and Products Programming. Mr. Al Loughani was appointed as Manager Sales Administration in January 2003 and was responsible for the pricing of Crude and Petroleum Products. He was in charge of qualifying KPC Customers and Suppliers and also responsible of the role for establishment of new business units at KPC Head Office and at new KPC Regional Offices.
He was appointed as Deputy Managing Director of Marketing Operations in November 2007 with the overall responsibilities of directing the activities of Supply Operation, Marine Operations and Planning Marketing. Later appointed as Deputy Managing Director in April 2013 for Marketing of Sales Crude Oil, Light Petroleum Products (Naphtha, Mogas and LPG). In
March 2016 was reassigned the position of Deputy Managing Director Marketing Operations. In April 2016 was transferred to Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) as Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Fuel Supply Operations. In June 2018 was back in KPC as Deputy Managing Director International Marketing Operations. In October 2018, was appointed as Deputy Managing Director International Marketing – Contracts Administration up to date.
He has been a Board member of Kuwait Oil Tanker Co. (KOTC) from 2011-2016. Is currently the Chairman of the Board of Kuwait Aviation Fueling Co. (KAFCO) since 2016 and a Board member at Petroleum Industries Co. (PIC).

Since joining the Corporation in 1993, held several key positions in various International Marketing activities focusing on negotiations and development of crude oil and petroleum products agreements for KPC globally. Has vast international trading and marketing experience enriched by his multilingual skills. From 2005-2007 headed KPC’s Beijing Office responsible for Marketing and Project Development in China, and from 2008-2013 was in charge of KPC’s European trading and marketing activities based in KPC London Office.
In 2014, was relocated from London Office to KPC-Head Office to head up the Market Research Department (until date) responsible for a team of 18 Analysts that provides Marketing Intelligence to support KPC’s International Marketing operations, long term scenario planning and strategy development for the Corporation.
Responsibilities include providing KPC Management, KPC Board, Council of Ministers, Supreme Petroleum Council, His Excellency the Oil Minister, with Oil & Gas market outlook, reports, studies and executive presentations.
Attends OPEC Ministerial meetings with H.E. The Oil Minister, and is a regular speaker at major domestic and international oil and gas conferences such as MPGC, Oil & Money, CERAWEEK.
In January 2017, appointed as Chairman of the Joint Technical Committee (JTC) to monitor the implementation of the production adjustment agreement between OPEC and Non-OPEC countries. In June 2017, appointed as Kuwait’s Governor for OPEC.

Ed Morse built the Commodities Research team at Citi, which he has headed since 2011, having previously built similar groups both at Lehman Brothers and Credit Suisse, covering the full panoply of financially traded commodities. He brings to his analysis a unique breadth of experience extending from academia and think tanks to government, business, consulting and publishing. He has taught at Princeton, Columbia and Johns Hopkins universities, worked as a Senior Fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations, and he served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Energy Policy in both the Carter and Reagan Administrations.
He was in management at Phillips Petroleum Co., a co-founder of PFC Energy, a former publisher of "Petroleum Intelligence Weekly" and President of Energy Intelligence Group. He also worked at Hess Energy Trading Company. Among his consulting experiences has been designing Yemen's oil pricing policy and assisting in the negotiations of its initial export contracts as well as helping the UN Security Council design the Oil-for-Food Program for Iraq and assisting in its negotiations with Baghdad to achieve its agreement. Morse has frequently written Op-Ed and guest editorials for The Financial Times, New York Times, Wall Street Journal and Washington Post and often appears as a commentator for Bloomberg TV, CNBC, PBS and other media outlets.
The author or co-author of numerous books and articles on energy, commodities and international affairs, he is Chair of the New York Energy Forum, a member of the Advisory
Board for the Center on Global Energy Policy at Columbia University as well as of the Advisory Council of the Transregional Institute at Princeton University, and a member of the Advisory
Board of the Arabia Foundation. He is a Senior Fellow of both the USAEE and the IEEJ and in 2018 was named by Petroleum Economist in its inaugural “Global Energy Elite” issue as among the ten most prominent individuals in energy banking and finance.

Jeff is the global head of Commodities Research in the Global Investment Research (GIR) Division. He is responsible for conducting research on commodity market dynamics in the context of corporate risk management programs, short and long-term commodity investment strategies and asset allocation. Jeff is also a member of the GIR Client and Business Standards Committee, the Growth Markets Executive Committee and the Macro Executive Committee.
Previously, Jeff was the European co-head of Economics, Commodities and Strategy Research from 2010 to 2012 and based in London, where he resided since 2003. Over the years, the commodities research team has consistently been ranked number one under Jeff’s direction and in 2011 he was named the CNBC Analyst of the Year by City A.M. Jeff joined Goldman Sachs in 1996 and was named managing director in 2002 and partner in 2008.
Prior to joining the firm, Jeff taught undergraduate and graduate level courses in microeconomics and econometrics at The University of Chicago and served as the associate editor of Resource and Energy Economics. Jeff also worked as a consulting economist, specializing in energy and other microeconomic issues, at Ernst and Young, LLP and Economic Insight, Inc. In addition, he has advised numerous government agencies in the United States, European Union and Russia.
Jeff earned a PhD in Economics from The University of Chicago in 1996.
