The 26th Annual Middle East Petroleum and Gas Conference (MPGC 2018) was successfully held from April 22-24 at Jumeriah at Etihad Towers, Abu Dhabi UAE. Organised and produced by Conference Connection, in Abu Dhabi for the 7th time with the support of ADNOC, MPGC 2018 welcomed 350 participants from 35 countries in the Middle East/Mena region, the Asia-Pacific, African Subcontinent, Europe and the Americas, with over 550 at MPGC Week events 2018.
The highlight of the Official Opening, was the Conference Chairman’s Crystal Ball, delivered by Dr Fereidun Fesharaki presented the state of the oil markets featuring OPEC/Non-OPEC Plans, demand growth and geopolitical risks, with the need to separate hype from reality. The eagerly awaited Crystal Ball concluded that the oil markets have rebalanced with oil prices approaching the $85 per barrel range in 2018.

MPGC welcomed many of its National Oil Company Hosts for the 26th edition in Abu Dhabi, plus its hosts for other key events in the Gulf. In addition to H.E Dr Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, CEO of the ADNOC Group, CEOs and senior management of KPC, ENOC and BAPCO past hosts for MPGC, participated in the Keynote and Plenary Sessions and attended networking functions as well as the VIP Majlis. The MPGC audience polling, a key tool driving participant engagement, dialogue and discussion, continued to generate keen interest, attracting more than 1285 votes over 29 polls on Brent prices, OPEC policies, US crude exports, demand growth, IMO 2020 issues, oil futures, refinery margins, the future of downstream, upside upstream potential and the electric car revolution.

20 Hours of extended networking, two networking lounges ADNOC Gala Dinner, Hospitality suites by BGN, BAPCO, ENOC, Penthol and Trafigura were amongst key companies that hosted MPGC 2018 Hospitality Suites and key annual meetings with their clients as part of official MPGC 2019 Week of activities.
A highlight of social engagements was the MPGC Gala Dinner hosted by ADNOC on 23rd April which welcomed over 350 MPGC participants, VIPs and ADNOC guests in an elegant setting, with a sumptuous dinner and entertainment, providing an opportunity to renew old friendships and forge new relationships.
Conference Connection and S&P Global Platts each hosted a networking lounges to foster on-site interaction and engagement by MPGC 2018 stakeholders comprising Hosts, speakers, delegates, sponsors and the industry media.
