Dr. Vivek Chandra is the founder and CEO of Gulfstream LNG, a 4 MTPA LNG export project along the Mississippi River, Louisiana, USA. The recently launched project has received its initial export permit, closed a seed funding round, announced its technical partners, and will begin its Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) process in early 2024. The project will serve diverse customers, including large-scale international LNG importers, smaller regional markets, and domestic users supplied by barge and bunkering vessels. Dr Chandra served as the CEO of Texas LNG since founding the project in 2013. Texas LNG has completed its permitting requirements and plans to begin construction for the $3+billion facility in the near future. Under Vivek’s leadership, Texas LNG completed multiple equity funding rounds, FEED engineering, and all permitting requirements. Dr Vivek Chandra is the author of Fundamentals of Natural Gas: An International Perspective, a bestselling hardcover book published by Pennwell / Endeavor, publishers of Oil and Gas Journal.
Dr Vivek Chandra has taught the popular “Natural Gas Dynamics” executive course, a
three day course held over 25 times in 15 countries. He has also developed mobile apps for the natural gas industry downloaded over 5000 times and is a frequent speaker at LNG and gas conferences worldwide and regularly quoted in the media.
Dr Chandra’s extensive 30+ years international gas experience includes roles as independent LNG consultant, senior commercial executive with an Australian energy company, development of gas projects in the Middle East, and diverse experiences with ARCO in the United States, including Alaska, and offshore field engineering with Schlumberger in SE Asia, Middle East and US. He has worked on LNG import, LNG export, as well as gas pipeline export projects.
He has degrees in Geophysical Engineering (Colorado School of Mines), Energy Management (U. of Pennsylvania), Petroleum Economics (IFP France) and in Commercial Law (Deakin University Australia). His recently completed PhD. in International Law with dissertation on the UN Convention of the Law of the Sea and disputed maritime boundaries with oil and gas potential has been published as a hardcover book by Taylor & Francis (UK) in 2023.

Course Objective
The course is divided into two independent modules that together, will provide a complete overview of the natural gas industry, from basic knowledge through to complex pricing and contractual concepts. The modules will progress from the Fundamentals through to the more complex Business of Natural Gas/LNG facets of the industry. Participants will gain the necessary knowledge to understand important and emerging concepts, including unconventional gas, cost of supply, oil price linkages, LNG ‘S’ curve pricing, alternative gas price indices, spot trade, hub and reference pricing, floating production & regasification and integrated gas to power concepts. This knowledge will be presented in a practical manner to ensure its relevance to contemporary industryrequirements.
